The Christian Blogosphere: A Place Where Anything Does Not Go!

We know that we have truly embraced a new medium of communication when we employ it enough to be dangerous! “As believers in Christ we are responsible to confront one anther when our blogs do not honor Christ.”

This is a reminder from a recent post at “Said @ Southern Seminary.” In a post overviewing “user expectations,” Tony Kummer  provides some helpful, tone-setting, Christ honoring parameters for the cooperative blogging effort Said @ Southern Seminary has as its goal.  These are helpful controls for any Christain blogger.

Some Christian blogs, as far as I can tell, appear to relegate their communication in the blogosphere to a category where “anything goes.” But for Christians in the blogosphere and anywhere else, anything does not go! As the Apostle Paul exhorts us in Ephesians 4:21, “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.’ There is no sphere of life, not even the blogosphere with all of its disclaimers, where this command is not for our best and Christ’s highest honor.

Thanks Said @ Southern Seminary for setting a standard.
